Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been voted the fourth best footballer in the world in a global YouGov poll.

A total of 18,000 people from 17 different countries had their say in the poll and voted Barcelona's Lionel Messi top, followed by Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar and then Zlatan Ibrahimovic. The gap between Messi and Ibrahimovic, however, was a staggering 24 percentage points.

34-year-old Ibrahimovic managed to get 5.2 percent of the total number of votes, but was ranked second best by Swedish fans.

Fans were asked to choose their top three footballers from the 23 players on the Ballon d'Or shortlist.
