This week, Eva Melander found out the good news that she was among the nominees a Guldbagge, the Swedish equivalent of an Academy Award, for best supporting actress.

Melander spoke to Radio Sweden about her role playing the mother of a teenaged boy who is accused of rape in the movie Flocking, and also about other roles she has enjoyed playing, including the mother of the title character in Sebbe, which won a Guldbagge for best film in 2011.

"Doing harsh actions but still getting the audience to kind of feel that you're a real person... that's really what I love to do," Melander said.
