Police break-up cocaine gang

Published fredag 8 januari 2016 kl 19.47

Swedish and Lebanese police have broken up a gang smuggling in cocaine from Brazil, the newspaper Borås Tidning reports.

A man from Borås was detained at Beirut airport Sunday with 14 kg of cocaine. The police have reportedly also detained two suspected leaders and two couriers in Borås, as well as another suspect who landed at Gothenburg’s Landvetter airport.

More arrests are expected in Lebanon.

“This is the result of close cooperation with the Lebanese police,” Magnus Dahl of the Älvsborg Police District tells the newspaper.
