Princess Sofia gave birth to a baby boy in Stockholm on Tuesday night.

Her husband Prince Carl Philip announced the news at Danderyd's Hospital and said both baby and mother were doing well.

The baby's name will be revealed on Thursday.

The royal birth provided ample fodder for Sweden's tabloids and is the fourth grandchild of King Carl XVI Gustaf, whose family received SEK 65 million last year in state funds.
