A Swedish court has ordered a psychiatric evaluation for the 20-year-old man on trial for allegedly plotting a terrorist attack in Sweden, news agency TT reports.

The Attunda District Court in northern Stockholm wrote in a press release that, although the man has denied the crimes, there is "convincing evidence that he is guilty of an offense included in the indictment".

The man is accused of trying to build a bomb. Police arrested him in early February and found bottles of aceton, duct tape, a mobile phone and jars of pellets after searching his home.

The court said the defendant will remain in custody during the four weeks that it takes to perform the review. Once it is completed, his trial will resume.
