Sweden's Social Democrat prime minister Stefan Löfven and minister for foreign affairs, Margot Wallström, react to US election results.

Prime Minister Stefan Löfven said his government had prepared for two potential outcomes - a Hillary Clinton win and a Donald Trump win. He told Radio Sweden:

I believe that both individuals and the market are obviously a bit concerned about these results, but we have been preparing for both scenarios in the Swedish government.

Minister for Foreign Affairs Margot Wallström said:

I personally regret it since I’m a supporter of Hillary Clinton, but we now have to engage with America and it remains to be seen what will be the policies that Donald Trump will represent.
