Police have dug up the body of a man whose wife is suspected of murdering her father to examine whether there was any foul play in his death too.

The 41-year-old woman’s father was found dead and her mother injured at a summer cottage outside of Arboga in Central Sweden in August this year.

The woman and her 18-year-old boyfriend were later arrested in Norway on suspicion of murder.

On Tuesday, at a graveyard in Gustavsberg, near Stockholm, the police brought up the remains of the woman's late husband, who was found in Lake Hjälmaren, Arboga in August last year.

His death was treated as an accident, and no suspicious circimstances were found during a post mortem examination. However, after the woman was arrested on suspicion of murdering her father and the attempted murder of her mother, the Prosecution Authority decided to take another look at the husband's death.

The 42-year-old's body was exhumed this morning and was taken away for examination.
