Sommar i P1 is one of Sweden’s biggest radio shows and now its wintertime equivalent begins this week.

Vinter i P1 is the sister program to the wildly popular Sommar i P1. Vinter i P1 airs between Christmas Day and New Year's Day.

It allows interesting Swedish-speaking persons create their own hour and a half long show. The hosts, who were previous hosts for Sommar i P1, get to pick their own topics and choose what music to play.

Bibi Rödöö oversees both the Sommar and Vinter broadcasts. She says program's end-of-the-year timing allows for some more reflective topics.

"You suddenly think about the year and the future," she tells Radio Sweden.
