A trial starts on Friday against a 30-year-old man suspected of being behind an arson attack against a Muslim association in Malmö. The prosecutor claims the attack was linked to the so-called Islamic State.

Molotov cocktails were thrown into the building, where a Shia Muslim party had been held the night before, in the early morning of October 11 last year. No-one was injured in the attack, but the premises were damaged by the fire.

The prosecutor claims the attack was carried out by the so-called Islamic State, but the suspect denies any links to the terrorist organisation.

The arson attack was one of the 78 attacks presented by the White Hourse in February, to back up US President Donald Trump's claims about the media's 'under reporting' of terrorist attacks.
