Ericsson CEO Börje Ekholm says the company has a hard time making profits from its media and it/cloud operations.

The CEO was brought in last year, after Ericsson announced major job cuts amid worries for the future of the company.

Börje Ekholm says to Swedish Radio that Ericsson will keep it/cloud, as it is central for the company’s customers.

He says that Ericsson’s work on networks will continue, but first they have to improve its profitability.

Regarding media operations he says the company is “looking at other strategic possibilities to develop the operation faster.”

But sales keep falling, by 16 per cent, and CEO Ekholm says Ericsson is in a “tough market".

”It is above all after next year that we will see a significant rise in profitability” says CEO Börje Ekholm.
