Randy is trying to fit in as much time as possible with friends before he leaves.

Randy is still at home in Malaysia where he is making the final preparations for the big move to Stockholm. When Radio Sweden called to check in, he’s just on his way home from a farewell dinner with friends.

“Those mates are my sport mates,” he said. “I feel a little bit of a mixed reaction now that I have to leave them. I am not sure if I will find some sport mates in Sweden too.”

Leading up to the across the globe move, there’s quite a lot playing on Randy’s mind.

“I understand that the first couple of months it is going to be challenging because there is a lot to adjust to... After that, I can start to enjoy all the things in Sweden.”

Randy lands in Stockholm next week and is looking forward to a busy first few days.

This summer, Radio Sweden is following the journeys of three new arrivals as they adjust to life in Sweden. Listen to Newcomer Diaries on the Radio Sweden Weekly podcast, radiosweden.org, or on the radio to keep up with Jyothi, Weronika, and Randy this summer.
