Sweden will meet high-ranked teams Germany, Mexico, and South Korea in Group F in the first round of the 2018 FIFA World Cup, it was announced at a ceremony in Moscow today.

Sweden, who will be playing in their first World Cup since 2006, qualified after holding four-time champions Italy to a goalless draw in Milan last month.

Germany have also won the tournament four times.

Sweden will open their campaign against South Korea on June 18 in Nizhny Novgorod.

The World Cup kicks off at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow on June 14, when hosts Russia meet Saudi Arabia.
