Sweden Wins Davis Cup Tie with India

Sweden has secured its place in the tennis Davis Cup World Group winning a rain-delayed play-off in India.

Following Jonas Björkman’s victory in the opening singles match Friday, the second match was cut off by rain. Thomas Johansson won the completed match Sunday afternoon.

The doubles, which started Sunday and carried over until Monday, went to India in four sets. Thomas Johansson then secured the Swedish victory, winning the first reverse singles match in straight sets Monday.
