Sweden Condemns Bali Bombings

Published måndag 3 oktober 2005 kl 11.30

Sweden has joined the world community in denouncing the latest bombings in Bali.

In a statement, Foreign Minister Laila Freivalds says Sweden condemns in the strongest terms these terrible attacks affecting innocent civilians. She expresses deepest sympathies to the families of the victims and the already hard-pressed population of Bali.

So far there are no reports of any Swedes among the at least 19 dead and more than 120 injured. The Swedish ambassador in Indonesia says the Foreign Ministry will probably issue a warning advising Swedes not to travel to Bali until further notice. He and other personnel from the embassy met around 50 Swedish tourists in Bali Sunday.
