Swedes Turn their Backs on SUVs

Published fredag 7 oktober 2005 kl 10.53

A new survey indicates that more and more Swedes don’t like sports utility vehicles.

The study, by the insurance company Folksam, indicates that 45 percent of Swedes have a negative attitude towards SUVs, up from 38 percent last year. The company says one reason may be environmental concerns, because with their poor gas mileage, SUVs release more greenhouse gases.

Another reason may be because of the damage caused by SUVs in collisions with ordinary cars.
