Tents and Blankets to Pakistan
Sweden is joining world efforts to send aid to Pakistan after Saturday’s earthquake, which is believed to have taken more than 30,000 lives.
Foreign Minister Laila Freivalds says Sweden strongly grieves with the suffering population of a poor and already vulnerable area. The Swedish Rescue Services are sending 75 large tents and 3000 blankets. The tents are insulated, with heaters, and can each house a family or 5 or 6.
The relief supplies are expected to arrive in Islamabad Tuesday morning.
