IMF’s Ingves New Central Bank Governor
Sweden’s central bank has announced the appointment of Stefan Ingves as its new governor.
Ingves has been at the Riksbank before as deputy governor in the 1990s. He has also worked at the Ministry of Finance. Since 1999 he has headed up the Monetary and Financial Systems Department at the International Monetary Fund.
He is set to replace Lars Heikensten who resigned last month.
