Paper Jobs To Go In Sweden
One of the world’s largest forest product companies, Stora Enso is to close four of its production plants, including one in Stockholm, because of a need to cut costs.
The group, which was formed in a 1998 merger between Finland’s Enso and Stora of Sweden is restructuring because of a drop in earnings, and 2000 jobs are to go.
One of the plants to close down is in the Hammarby area of Stockholm. Two smaller production units in Sweden will also go.
Better news for Anglo-Swedish drugs giant Astra Zeneca which announced a pre-tax profit of 1.743 billion dollars during the third quarter, up 23 percent from the same period last year.
