Persson Re-elected as Social Democrat Leader
Sweden’s Prime Minister Göran Persson has been unanimously re-elected as chairman of the governing Social Democratic party at its congress on Monday.
Persson has been party leader since 1996. He told his party ”What we are doing at this congress is to lay the foundations of the election campaign. We are shaping the future together and this we can do by staying united and respect each other.”
Swedes go to the polls next September.
