Diabetes Increases Cancer Risks

Swedish scientists report that diabetics run a 30 percent higher risk of colorectal or intestinal cancer.

The study by researchers at Stockholm’s Karolinska Institute is published in the “Journal of the National Cancer Institute” in the United States.

Last month scientists at Karolinska reported that women who consume large quantities of fatty dairy products have a lesser risk of contracting intestinal cancer.

Another new report from the institute reveals that higher weight in the placenta increases the risk of breast cancer in mothers.

The study is reported in the “Journal of the American Medical Association”. The researchers found that for women who have given birth, the risk of breast cancer is directly associated with the weight of the placenta in two successive pregnancies.
