Sony Ericsson Now Number 4
Sony Ericsson has reclaimed the number four position in the global mobile telephone market.
According to a survey from the market research group Gartner, the Swedish-Japanese company passed LG Electronics, due to strong demand for its Walkman and camera phones.
Ericsson was once second only to Nokia in handset sales. A series of problems led to dropping market share, and the creation of the joint enterprise with Sony.
Finland’s Nokia remains the leader, increasing its share to more than 32 percent, followed by the American Motorola, at just under 19 percent.
