Pinter Too Ill to Attend Nobel Ceremony
The Nobel Foundation says that British playwright Harold Pinter will not attend the ceremony here to receive his Nobel Prize in Literature, because of illness.
The writer will travel to Stockholm for a few says before the December 10th ceremony to deliver the traditional laureate’s lecture, which is already sold out.
But the Nobel Foundation says he will not stay on for the other festivities. Pinter’s publisher will accept the Nobel Prize on his behalf.
Pinter was diagnosed with cancer three years ago.
