Fallen Afghanistan Peacekeeper Home

The body of the Swedish soldier who died in Afghanistan arrived back in this country Monday evening.

A military honor ceremony was held for the 28 year old officer, who was serving with the NATO-led mission in northern Afghanistan. He died Friday after a mine exploded under the vehicle in which he was traveling.

There’s no word on the three Swedish peacekeepers who were with him, except that they are being cared for at a hospital at an undisclosed location in Europe. One is said to remain in critical condition.
