Harold Pinter Cancels Nobel Trip

Published onsdag 30 november 2005 kl 14.19
Literature Laureate Harold Pinter

Poor health has forced Nobel Literature Prize winner Harold Pinter to cancel his trip to Stockholm.

It had been announced that the British playwright would be here to deliver the traditional literature lecture, although he would not attend the prize ceremony. The Nobel Foundation announced Wednesday that Pinter has been forbidden by his doctors from making the trip.

Instead the lecture will be prerecorded and presented on a big screen at the Swedish Academy. The 75 year old laureate was diagnosed with cancer in 2002.
