A left wing extremist group has taken responsibility for burning down what it claims was the headquarters of a Swedish neo-Nazi party.

Anti-Fascist Action says in a press release they started the Christmas Eve fire in buildings used by the National Socialist Front in Tråvad in southwestern Sweden.

The statement, which is also on the group’s website, says it carried out the action after the local authorities failed to evict the neo-Nazis.

The TT news agency reports that police forensic experts are expected to begin their investigation on Wednesday.
