Death Threat Against Gays Not Investigated
A Stockholm tabloid says prosecutors are dropping an investigation into death threats against 129 well-known Swedish homosexuals.
According to the daily “Aftonbladet” the prosecutor cites the Supreme Court’s acquittal of Pentacostal pastor Åke Green. He denounced gays from the pulpit, which the court said was protected under freedom of religion.
The Swedish homosexuals are named on an extreme right wing Christian website, reportedly under a quote from the Bible saying they should be killed. The prosecutor says he cannot act against Biblical citations.
But Åke Green himself disagrees, and tells “Aftonbladet” the prosecutor has misunderstood the court’s decision in his case.
