Sweden ranks high on EU Economic reform list

Published måndag 20 mars 2006 kl 10.57

European leaders will meet later this week to reform and boost economic growth and jobs.

In setting out the main reform objectives, EU leaders assessed each country, labeling them ‘heroes’ or ‘villains’.  Sweden wasn’t named a villain in any of the categories and was named among the heroes in many of them, including Innovation, Research and Development, Bringing people into the workforce, Upgrading skills, Climate change and Natural environment.  Overall, Sweden was second only to neighbor Denmark when it came to how advanced they are in the reforms, a reverse from the last rankings.
