Pärson Out of Action After Surgery
Olympic slalom champion Anja Pärson is expected to be out of action for up to 12 weeks after undergoing surgery on her left knee on Thursday.
Pärson won the slalom gold at the Turin Olympics and last week clinched the giant slalom World Cup title at the finals in Åre, but has complained of pain in both knees for the last few weeks.
She underwent surgery by a knee specialist at the Vail Valley Medical Center in Colorado
According to her father and coach Anders Pärson, ”If the rehabilitation goes well during the next eight to 12 weeks and Anja becomes pain free she might continue her rehabilitation on snow at the end of July.
