Serbian President Boris Tadic

Serbian President Boris Tadic said during a visit to Sweden that Serbia is doing everything in its power to capture top war crimes fugitive Gen. Ratko Mladic ahead of a deadline imposed by the European Union.

Tadic told reporters, ”We have to finalize this process of collaboration with the EU and there is no doubt about it that we have to solve the Mladic problem.”

Tadic also said that he will not interfere in an upcoming referendum on Montenegro’s independence from the union of the two ex-Yugoslav republics and that he will respect the outcome.

Sweden’s Prime Minister Göran Persson said the two leaders also agreed to continue economic cooperation.
