Self-Inflicted Injuries on the Increase

Published tisdag 4 april 2006 kl 11.18

The number of young people in Sweden attempting suicide or other self-destructive behavior has increased.

The Swedish Social Welfare Board presented a report on the problem Tuesday, covering more than 100,000 people here who were treated here for self-inflicted injuries during the year 2003. Nine out of ten tried to poison themselves.

The biggest increase has been among young people under the age of 25.
