Information about voting by mail is sent to all Swedes registered abroad

August 3   
Mail voting from abroad begins

August      
The information brochure about the election is mailed to all households in Sweden

August 18 
The Election Register is established, voting cards are distributed through August 29

August 24 
Voting at Swedish embassies and consulates begins

August 30 
Voting in advance begins at special municipal polling stations

September 5       
Last day to request a change in the Election Register

September 17     
ELECTION DAY – preliminary results are available by evening

September 18     
County administrative boards begin the final ballot count including personal votes

September 20     
The allocation of seats in parliament is completed, members and substitutes are announced

September 20-27
Ballots for county and municipal councils are counted, seats are allocated
