Women’s Snoring

Published tisdag 11 april 2006 kl 11.15

According to new research, one adult woman in 13 snores often.

The study, by Uppsala University Hospital, surveyed 7000 women. It indicates that women snore more if they are overweight. Thin women snore more if they drink alcohol, women of normal weight snore more if they smoke.

Those worst affected are between 50 and 60 years of age.

Half as many women snore as men, but men more often seek medical help to deal with sleeping problems. One of the researchers says this may because women regard snoring as unladylike, and are embarrassed to seek help.
