The Finnish War Children
From 1939 to 1945 some 70,000 to 80,000 Finnish children were sent away from their war ravaged home. Some were taken to Denmark, and others to Norway, but the majority came to Sweden. In a special two part Timeline, Radio Sweden follows the lives of Matti Nevalainen and Doris Emanuelsson, just two of the many youngsters forced to leave their loved ones.
