An expert on tobacco at the Swedish National Institute of Public Health has received the Luther L. Terry award from the American Cancer Society.

Margaretha Haglund has been honored with the Distinguished Career Award for her visible and key role in bringing women and tobacco issues to the global forefront. She shares the award with a Polish researcher.

The prizes, which are awarded every three years, will be presented in July at the World Conference on Tobacco or Health.
