ABBA Star in Tax Trouble

Published fredag 28 april 2006 kl 12.13

The Swedish Tax Agency claims that former Swedish ABBA member and present music magnate, Björn Ulvaeus, ows them approximately 12 million dollars in unpaid taxes, fees and interest rates.

The Agency accuses the former ABBA star of money laundry, having “laundried” his income from music production in foreign companies in for example Holland, Isle of Man and the Antilles.

Ulvaeus signed over his music production rights to alleged companies already in the seventies, and has thus avoided paying taxes on income from royalties. Ulvaeus’ lawyer says to news paper Dagens Nyheter that the former ABBA member’s business contracts are based on other reasons than avoiding paying taxes.
