Published onsdag 24 maj 2006 kl 12.07
Health Minister Ylva Johansson

Speaking to the annual meeting of the World Health Organization in Geneva Tuesday, Swedish Health Minister Ylva Johansson focused on equal care for women, and especially on the rights of women for sexual and reproductive health.

Johansson pointed out that every minute a woman dies somewhere in the world because of an unwanted pregnancy or complications and poor treatment during birth.

She said sexual and reproductive healthcare are also a necessity to prevent the spread of AIDS, and to reduce poverty.
