The previously stolen Scream and Madonna

Thieves have stolen a valuable work by the Norwegian painter Edvard Munch from a private property outside Hörby in southern Sweden.

Tighter border controls have been ordered in response to the theft. The police say they believe the painting is worth more than 138,000 dollars.

Munch’s famous masterpiece ”The Scream” and his painting ”Madonna” are still missing after they were stolen from a museum in Norway in 2004, despite an international search and the arrest and convictions of three accomplices.
