KI Reprimanded in Research Fraud Case

Published torsdag 1 juni 2006 kl 13.00

The Swedish Research Council has levelled stark criticism against two former Karolinska Institute researchers after a closer look at the fraud scandal that hit the world renowned research powerhouse back in February.

The Research Council says the professor and doctoral student broke the code of good scientific ethics. Their criticism is also directed at Karolinska itself for allowing plagiarised and unsubstantiated research to pass unnoticed.

The Karolinska Institute has made assurances that routines have been sharpened. Both the accused professor and doctoral student dismiss the criticism and are looking towards an appeal.
