Gender Gap Shrinks
According to a new report from the National Mediation Office, the gap between men and women’s salaries here is much less than previous statistics would indicate.
The agency has compared wages in 355 different professions, outside the state sector. Overall, women earn 7 percent less than men. Previously the gender gap was said to be 17 percent.
The biggest difference is among white collar workers, where the gap is 10 percent, and in the private sector, where it is 9 percent. Among municipal employees, women earn just 1 percent less than men.
