Götheborg Arrives in Jakarta

Published måndag 19 juni 2006 kl 11.09

A reproduction of an 18th century Swedish sailing ship has reached Jakarta in its journey to the East.

The Götheborg is an exact copy of an East Indian trading vessel. It left the west coast Swedish port of Gothenburg in October last year. The Indonesian lay-over is the next to last stop for the ship on its way to Canton, China.

Meanwhile, some very different ships arrived in Gothenburg Saturday. The American yacht Pirates of the Caribbean won the ninth and final leg of the Volvo Ocean Race, while the Dutch entry ABN AMRO ONE took overall honors in the gruelling round-the-world regatta.
