Calls For Smoking Ban In Hotels

Published torsdag 29 juni 2006 kl 13.42

This time last year, smoking was banned in all pubs and restaurants in Sweden. Now the country’s Hotel and Restaurant Union has demanded a ban on smoking in hotel rooms.

Just like workers in pubs and restaurants, the union said that cleaners have the right to a good working environment.

In a press release, the union said that too many hotel cleaners are forced to work in rooms that have been smoked in.

Some hotels have made a unilateral decision to ban smoking but the union said it was going too slowly.
