Centre Party Unveils Green Card Plan For Immigrants

Published torsdag 6 juli 2006 kl 15.41
Centre Party Leader Maud Olofsson in the centre

Sweden’s centre party wants more people to come to Sweden to work, and it says Sweden should introduce a Green Card system for worker immigration, like they have in Canada and the USA.

Under the proposal, aired at the Almedalen political week in Visby, 20,000 people every year would be offered Swedish work permits.

The party also wants a more generous refugee policy, under which it would be possible to seek asylum directly in refugee’s country of origin.
