Swedish Flights Almost Back to Normal

Published fredag 11 augusti 2006 kl 13.59

Stockholm’s International airport Arlanda warns of delayed flights but no cancellations – following the British police crackdown on suspected terrorists accused of planning to blow up planes flying from Britain to the United States.

Airport authorities say the flights to London have been delayed only by 15 minutes – but there have been longer delays for flights to American cities because of the increased security precautions.

They are also warning passengers here to pack any liquids or jellies in their checked-in suit cases – to avoid the extra delays during the searches of carry-on luggage.

Swedish travel agents claim so far they note no large-scale cancellation of flight bookings – unlike the immediate reaction after the 711 terrorist attack in New York and Washington.
