Klüft to Miss Rest of Season
Carolina Klüft, who retained her heptathlon title at the European championships last week, will miss the rest of the season because of a thigh injury.
Klüft told Swedish public television SVT on Thursday that she doesn’t want ”to risk it getting worse.” She added that ”It will be four to five weeks of rest before I can start training again.”
The Olympic and world champion struggled with the injury during the European championships in Gothenburg.
The 23-year-old also took part in the long jump, finishing sixth, and the women’s 100 metres relay.
