Former pastor admits murdering his wife

Publicerat fredag 1 september 2006 kl 12.20
Former Pastor, Helge Fossmo

There has been a late development surrounding one of the most sensational murder cases in Sweden.

It involved amongst others a pastor from a sleepy village, his mistress, his former lover ”the nanny” and a woman known as ”the Bride of Christ”.

Helge Fossmo, the former pastor of Knutby, near Uppsala, and the family nanny were found guilty at the beginning of the year of shooting dead his second wife in January 2004. His neighbour, whose wife was having an affair with the pastor, was also shot but survived.

The nanny was sentenced to psychiatric care and the pastor life in prison, from where he has now finally confessed to the murder in a TV interview.

The case was widely publicised in Sweden, with claims the pastor led a cult which dominated the village of Knutby, along with his second wife’s sister, dubbed ”the Bride of Christ”

The Police say they will now speak to the pastor again following his apparent confession.
