The newspaper “Dagens Nyheter” reports that the accident at the Forsmark nuclear power station in July has cost electric companies around 137 million dollars.

Experts the newspaper has spoken with say those costs will be passed on to consumers.

The July 25th incident has been described as the most serious ever in the Swedish nuclear power program. “Dagens Nyheter” reports that there were 9 separate faults in 37 seconds, and says the reactor was close to collapsing.

Since then four of Sweden’s ten reactors have been closed as the authorities investigate.
