June List Leader Exploited Tax System

Published tisdag 12 september 2006 kl 12.01
Nils Lundgren

The newspaper “Dagens Nyheter” reports that the leader of the maverick June List political party has saved almost 274,000 dollars by selling his house back and forth to himself and his own company five times.

.There’s no suggestion Lundgren has done anything illegal in exploiting the tax system, but with elections here in just 5 days, the story may affect credibility in his party.

The EU-sceptic June List came out of nowhere to win 13 percent of the vote in the elections to the European Parliament. But just five days before Sunday’s elections, when the party is trying to get into parliament, polls put it well below the 4 percent threshold for representation.
