Bomb Behind Election Booth
Swedish police evacuated a square in the southern city of Malmö Tuesday, after finding a firebomb near a Liberal Party election booth.
According to press reports, timers on the device were set to ignite late at night.
Bomb disposal experts removed the device and said it consisted of two canisters filled with what appeared to be gasoline and a fuse.
Swedes go the polls on Sunday in an election with the two sides running neck and neck. In the last week the opposition Liberals have been tainted by a spying scandal.
The latest poll shows the Liberals have dropped by 2.5 percentage points since last Friday, bringing the party down to 7.2 percent support.
