Changing Nationality Over Snuff
A Baltic ferry company is changing nationality, because of European Union regulations regarding tobacco.
The EU has banned moist oral snuff, except in Sweden, where the habit has a long tradition. The smokeless tobacco is sold on some of the ferries to the Åland islands, which are Swedish-speaking, but belong to Finland.
Now, following a decision by the EU court to enforce the ban, the ferry company is switching from the Finnish to the Swedish flag.
