Killer of Swedish Foreign Minister May Stay in Sweden

Published fredag 29 september 2006 kl 14.29

The head of the Swedish parliament’s judicial committee says he is opposed to granting the murderer of Swedish Foreign Minister Anna Lindh 5 years ago the right to be moved to Serbia.

Convicted killer, Mijhailo Miljailovic, is now serving a life-long prison sentence and has given up his Swedish citizenship for Serbian. He has asked to be moved to Serbia – where he claims he will be under less of a threat.

After a long delay, Serbia has answered a Swedish request saying it is willing to accept the prisoner in Serbia. A final decision will have to be made by the newly-elected Swedish government.
